A serious question

Can people with (orthodontic) braces participate in MRI scans/studies?

people with orthodontia are often scanned, but the metal braces cause artifacts/distortion in the images in the region where the metal is, depending on what kind of scans are acquired

the metal conducts electricity -- currents flow in the metal braces due to the constantly switching magnetic gradients during the scan, causing heating

I know someone whose boyfriend is made entirely of plastic. There's hope for everyone.

As I recall, a bad dog recently tried to pick up that boyfriend. Down, Snoopy!
